Main Themes at This Year's Fair
According to Messe Berlin, the 2026 programme puts future technologies at the centre: artificial intelligence, autonomous public transport, cybersecurity, robotics and 3D printing. A dedicated AI Mobility Lab returns for its second edition, and the first InnoTrans Hackathon, run under the motto "AI on Track", invites developers and startups to build AI-based solutions for mobility challenges. Night train concepts and vehicle mock-ups form another announced highlight.
The Railway Infrastructure segment has seen particularly strong registration interest, and international participation is growing: more than 200 first-time and new exhibitors have registered, including companies from Europe, China and India. Messe Berlin also lists China Railway among the participating transport companies, alongside operators and ministries from the Middle East, Turkey, Italy, Austria, Poland and Morocco.
Why the Fair Matters for Track Maintenance
For suppliers in the rail maintenance sector, InnoTrans functions as a concentrated snapshot of the market: infrastructure managers, grinding train operators, maintenance contractors and equipment makers gather in one place every two years. Decisions on wheel standards, consumables and life-cycle costs increasingly reference what is shown and discussed on the Berlin fairgrounds, and the 30th-anniversary edition is expected to draw decision-makers from all continents.
